Spread the picnic blanket

Clover the rabbit meets Crumb the mouse. Same starting cards; different bright ideas.

Who's coming?
Replay a picnic

Same seed, same starting layout. Even seeds: Clover opens. Odd seeds: Crumb opens. Both get equal visits. The second host gets one extra coin on their first visit.

How to throw a splendid picnic

  1. Play your hand. Tap cards for coins, charm, extra draws and little tricks. There is no action limit. Play Friends before Pocket Orchestra, Gardens before Blossom Cart. “Play basics” plays your acorns and strawberries together; keep some in hand if you plan to compost them.
  2. Serve & shop. You cannot return to playing this visit. Buy up to one card with coins AND welcome up to one guest with charm. Buying is not playing: the new card goes to your discard.
  3. Build your next hand. End the visit: hand and played cards go to discard; unused coins/charm vanish. Draw five next visit. An empty deck reshuffles its discard, including your purchases.
  4. Most stars wins. Each biscuit is 1 star; some cards carry 1 or 2. Guests score printed stars, plus 1 for every 3 cards of their favorite type in your entire deck, capped at +3 per guest. Composted cards do not count.

Friendly rivalry

Both hosts shop from the same five cards and race for the same three guests. A matching card played discounts a guest by 1 charm, up to 2. Refresh one market spot for 1 coin, once per visit, before buying. The old card goes to the bottom of the supply.

Biscuit Baker bakes at most once per visit. Biscuit Bandit swipes at most once, and only from a fuller biscuit tin; otherwise it earns a coin. Nobody loses their turn or their hand.

When the afternoon ends

Play 12 visits each, or finish the current pair of visits when all 15 guests have found picnics. Both hosts always get the same number of visits. Equal scores are a draw. The host who opens second gets one extra coin on their first visit to offset the first pick.
